On Sunday October 18th, the team at BOSS participated in the 22nd Annual Walk Along for Lupus walk at Eisenhower park. The team was able raise close to $2,000 with the help of generous donations and weekly office Bake Sales. It was a little chilly that morning, but we all had a great time, walking for a great cause.
During the month of September, the team at BOSS raised money for “A Dollar Campaign”, a part of The Pediatric Cancer Foundation. A Dollar Campaign, was created by two young women who believed that no child should ever have their life taken away due to cancer. BOSS was honored to be able to donate to such a great cause. Every dollar makes a difference to help find a cure to pediatric cancer. Below is a note from one of the founders:
On behalf of a Dollar Campaign, and myself, I’d like to thank you for the very generous donation. We are honored by your support. Although we have not met, I hope to be able to thank you in person some day. Please let your colleagues know how grateful we are, and that we are inspired by your kindness.

The Team at BOSS partnered with Long Island Cares to support their “Tools for School” program. During the month of August the employees were encouraged to bring in school supplies for families that are struggling to give their children the tools for school. Along with donations, we held Bake Sales and 50/50 raffles to raise money for the program. The money that was raised went to towards the purchase of backpacks, pencils, crayons, notebooks, and additional school supplies.
We have already kicked off our September fundraising events to support the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Stay tuned for our results. If you are interested in donating to our monthly initiatives, please email Melanie Sheridan at Melanie@bossfacilityservices.com.
On August 24, 2015, Keith Keingstein and Kevin Keingstein participated in a fundraising event at Camp Northstar, a unique camp for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Debi Whelan, Founder of the Whelan’s Foundation and Board Member at Camp Northstar was gracious enough to give us the guided tour around the camp. It was a real pleasure to meet the campers and learn a little bit as to what the camp means for them. The staff dedicates their time year after year to ensure the success and happiness of each camper and their families. Camp Northstar is always looking for volunteers and donations in order to make the camp successful year after year. To find out more about Camp Northstar go to www.campnorthstar.org.
During the month of June we collected much needed necessities for the Resurrection House, a homeless shelter for mothers and their children located in Wheatley Heights, New York. We kicked off our fundraising by holding Bake Sales and 50/50 Fridays. The Resurrection home expressed the need for art work to be hung up around the shelter. The team at BOSS held a paint night, where the employees and their children were able to create their own masterpiece, to be donated to the home. BOSS was able to fill a truck with toys, kids crafts, cleaning products, personal hygiene items, baby wipes and diapers and much more in hope to bring smiles to these families faces.
Part of the BOSS Facility Services, Inc. culture is to be involved with our community and help those in need. We began the BOSS Gives Back program to raise money to support local organizations, shelters, as well as National non-profit foundations. During the month of May, we collected donations for the Brookhaven Animal Shelter & Adoption Center. These items will assist the shelter to care for the animals that are waiting for their “Fur-ever” home. With the help of our employees were able to donate many items, such as food, crates, toys, leashes, collars and much, much more.
